License Reinstatement
Service Description
In Illinois, your driver's license can be suspended or revoked for the following offenses: • 3 moving violations within 12 months • Failure to appear in court • Unpaid parking violations • Tollway violations • Unpaid traffic tickets • Failure to pay child support • Being at fault for an auto accident without maintaining proper insurance • DUI A suspended license usually lasts a term meaning you are eligible for reinstatement at the end of a predetermined timeframe. A revocation, however, represents losing your license indefinitely. To contest a suspension/ revocation it is imperative that you review the status of your driving record. You can do this by obtaining a driving abstract from the Secretary of State or by speaking to an Administrative Hearing Officer at the Secretary of State. If you are caught driving with a suspended/ revoked license, this can lead to an increase in the length of your suspension/ revocation, jail time, and the possible seizure of your car.
